About Me

I was born and brought up by my wonderful Irish mother, who nurtured my love of film and strong female characters, in Barnet, North London. I learnt everything I needed to know about drama and comedy from Bette Davis and Laurel and Hardy, Dallas and The Golden Girls!

At 16 I fell in love with Shakespeare and my dream was to work at the RSC. I'd regularly visit the Barbican to be transported into the most magical worlds. After gaining a degree in Theatre at Dartington College I trained at East 15 Acting School.

My television work includes roles for the BBC and ITV and I was lucky to get to experience filming a sitcom live in front of an audience at Television Centre and a wonderful little role in a programme written by John Sullivan early on in my career. I'm naturally comedic, but am often cast in warm, caring professional roles. Although in recent years there have been some more duplicitous characters, including a couple of rather sinister mothers!

At some point during adulthood my love of contemporary theatre developed and my dream became to work for the Royal Court - a place where I have seen many amazing, thought provoking productions. I have worked in both regional theatre and the London Fringe, but have also played some rather fabulous, quirky, larger than life, eccentric characters for street theatre, immersive and corporate theatre.  Improvisation is second nature to me and I honestly do have an excellent ear for accents and yearn for the opportunity to use it!

Other work includes film, commercials, short films, education and corporate training films and stock photography.

I have worked on my own play writing for several years, but have yet to find the courage and conviction to do something with them!

I absolutely love voice work and the freedom it gives for creating characters who I wouldn't physically be given the opportunity to play. Over lockdown my creativity was kept alive by recording a couple of roles for 'Crumbleflan' a very silly, very funny medieval comedy podcast.  Recently I've recorded a version of 'The Birds', which was adapted for radio. I am keen to do much, much more.
